The show went pretty good yesterday. Except for the fact the my drummer is a controlling, manipulative asshole who screams at me all the time. We started playing one of our originals - It has words, but at the time I could not remember them. So I decided not to sing it, just play without words. It sounds pretty good without words anyway. Of course, my drummer would not stand for this and had to throw a little fit about it in front of everyone while we were playing the song. He kept yelling at me, SING THE DAMN SONG YOU FAGGOT! I kept trying to tell him that I couldn't remember the words. But he just kept yelling at me. The show was fine after that, but that's not the only time he's done something like this to me. We practice a lot. A few times a week. And of course he yells at me then too because i sometimes mess up, or forget a part to a song. But that's practice, of course we'll screw up then. Yesterday before the show, he wrote a note to my boss saying that the two of us can't work next friday because we're playing a show. That pissed me off a lot, because first off he didn't tell me about the show, and then he said I couldn't work without asking me. And it turns out that I can work the earlier shift that day because the show doesn't start until 7. I don't know what to do. I don't want him to treat me like shit anymore. I just need a break from him for a while. I mean, he is my friend. But he just has this bad temper, and doesn't care about anything. I know who Ima talk to about this... Mr. B. He'll know what to do.

Lol, you know, I think all drummers pretty much have their brains all rattled out from drumming. No offence, but your drummer sounds kinda moronic — what with the shit treatment he's been giving you. I hope things turn out better soon. Keep your chin up, k? |

It sounds to me what you need to do is tell him he needs to stop his shit or he is out. He can't control you and if he ignores it, honestly you are probably better off leaving the band and starting new. You might beable to go solo. Bands like taht sometimes don't work out because they don't have actual mangers brother with that stuff so yell at one another. |

Ok, is that drummer a headcase or is he just sooooo into music that he's willing to be the biggest ass to his friends because of it? You shouldn't let him treat you like that, even more so because you're supposed to be friends (you said it yourself). You guys should have a band talk or something about this since it's affecting your relationships with each other and won't help. :/ Good luck! Also, glad to hear that you guys had at least a great show. You should put up clips. :] |

Hey there. Nice layout! Hm, you forgot the words? Were you nervous? I think your drummer sounds like an asshole. Personally, I'd talk to him. And if that doesn't resolve the issue, either you or him need to leave. Because it'll just continue to happen. And it will probably hold back your success? Just a thought. I hope that you get it worked out! |
